Miro Spanish Grille, located in the north Ballantyne area (north of 485), has been a Charlotte staple for over 24 years, consistently ranking among our favorites. With an intimate atmosphere, it's an ideal spot for a quiet dinner for two or a gathering with friends. The menu remains largely unchanged, featuring a variety of Spanish classic dishes primarily from the Basque Country, Andalusia, and Galicia. Notable selections include seafood paella, paella de carne, empanadas, pulpo gallego (Spanish grilled octopus), and my personal favorite, zarzuela de mariscos — I make it a point to order it every time we visit. Consequently, there's little reason for me to peruse the menu any longer.
No Spanish/Latin restaurant would be complete without the quintessential Tres Leches dessert. Meaning "three milks," their rendition is a Spanish sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk and finished with a light vanilla frosting. It's simply irresistible.
Miro has garnered numerous awards and recognition over the years, including multiple years on Charlotte Magazine’s Best of the Best, Secret Charlotte’s Best Spanish Eateries, and Yelp’s Best Paella in North Carolina. Whether you're well-acquainted with Spanish cuisine or a newcomer, Miro is a must-try destination, offering something on the menu for everyone.
