Our Top 5 Best Retirement Communities in Charlotte

Updated: Nov 13

We take pride in helping all of our clients find their dream home, and that includes those looking to retire here in Charlotte. We have helped many find their home in a community that offers so many amenities that make purchasing a home, condo or apartment more attractive. Plus, the city of Charlotte is a beautiful place to retire in because of the surrounding mountains, access to the beach and the natural beauty of the city itself. Some reasons to consider a retirement community could be: social interactions, safety and security, maintenance-free living, access to healthcare, amenities and activities, structured environment, support services, and independence with support. We will dive in the 5 communities that we feel provide many, if not all, of these mentioned.

#1. The Sharon at SouthPark

Newly renovated and renamed (previously Sharon Towers), we have found that the location of this retirement community offers everything that a potential resident could want. Located in the heart of South Park, The Sharon has access to independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care. It is home to about 375 residents on a 28-acre campus right off Sharon Road. A short walk to South Park Mall and access to beautiful wooded areas, we think The Sharon is a great option for anyone looking for a retirement community. The Sharon did a recent renovation featuring a new health center and updated interior decor.

There is also access to excellent healthcare at their Hicks Wellness Clinic. Emotional, physical, and spiritual health is of the highest importance, according to The Sharon’s website. They offer access to high quality professional healthcare services 24-7.

Some quick facts about The Sharon: 5 restaurants offering a wide range of culinary experiences from fine dining to casual grab n go meals, outdoor nature areas and gardens, salon and spa, outpatient therapies, over 7 hobby and interest venues, scheduled shuttle service, on-site counseling and pastoral care.
